Shoemaker Chair no. 49, Smoked Oak - Form & Refine
A true classic made in Denmark since 1936 - where it is still produced to this day by a local joinery.
The seat has been crafted from a single large piece of smoked solid oak wood and, due to variations in the grain of the wood, each Shoemaker Chair is completely unique . Together, the turned legs and the stabilizing T-connection create a harmonious and aesthetic piece of furniture with strong references to the history and experimentation of Nordic design . Manufacturing may seem simple , but it is technically difficult to master. The solid piece of wood must be carved very precisely to ensure the greatest comfort . At the end of the process, each model is finished by hand before going through a three-step process of coloring or oiling surface treatments.
Use this stool from Form & Refine as an extra seat in a dining room or in an office .

Description
"We have tirelessly optimized the chair since the early stages, adjusting minor aspects year after year - both in the production flow and in the finished product. Among other things, T-legs have been added for more stability and the seat was reshaped and rounded so that if the chair fell, the rounded profile would protect the topline from breaking."
