Designer stools: finding the right height
At a kitchen island, a worktop or as occasional seating, a stool must first and foremost be the right height. Material and style then make all the difference.
Which seat height?
Allow 25 to 30 cm between the seat and the top. For a kitchen worktop of around 90 cm, choose a seat height of 60 to 65 cm; for a bar of 105 to 110 cm, a seat height of 75 to 80 cm. Allow about 60 cm of width per stool for comfort.
Comfort and materials

Care
Wipe wood with a soft, slightly damp cloth; vacuum bouclé fabrics regularly using the brush attachment.

Bar stool or kitchen stool?
It all depends on the height of the counter: a seat height of about 65 cm for a standard kitchen worktop, 75 cm or more for a bar.
How many stools around a kitchen island?
Divide the usable length of the island by 60 cm: a 180 cm island comfortably seats three stools.
