Decorative objects: the art of the finishing touch
It is often the small objects that give a room its soul. Well chosen and well placed, they express your taste without cluttering the space.
Creating a display
Group objects in threes or fives, varying heights and shapes: one tall, one medium and one low piece make a balanced arrangement. A tray brings several objects together on a coffee table or console table. Leave some breathing room: empty space lets each piece shine.
Materials and makers
Kristina Dam offers sculptures with pared-back forms, halfway between art and design. Snowdrops Copenhagen and Bloomingville work with natural materials and soft tones, LIND DNA with recycled leather and graphic lines, and Affari of Sweden with a warm, artisanal aesthetic.
Coordinating colours
Choose two or three dominant colours and repeat them from one object to the next: the whole looks considered, even with pieces from different brands.
Your questions
How many objects on a console table?
Three to five, of different heights, with one tall element (lamp, vase or mirror) to give the arrangement structure.
How do you care for stone or ceramic objects?
Regular dusting with a dry cloth is enough; avoid abrasive products.
