Description
Ann Van Hoey was a latecomer to the art of ceramics . His “Geometrical study” – a collection of basic forms – nevertheless allowed him to enter the circuit from 2008. “Geometric study” results from the exploration of audacious and delicate encounters between a circle and the four angles of a square. It was by observing the work of Japanese origamists that Ann Van Hoey had the idea of drawing inspiration from this technique to proceed with folding thin sheets of clay . The next logical step was the confrontation between the circle and the triangle to then examine what a straight line, the shortest line between two points, would do with a circle: from a geometric point of view, this was the birth of the "biangle", the ocular shape.
